1. NINE INCH NAILS
   When I say this is my favorite band of all time, I mean it. I have never put so much time into a group, getting to know everything about who worked on what, what inspired every song, every album. I think if I were given any NIN song with lyrics, I could resite it word for word with little thought. I have done full listens to every album of theirs pre-2010s, and I can't name a single song I dislike by them that I've heard. 95% of my Spotify liked songs somehow relate to trent Reznor. Years of time spent, unregretfully. When I say they have a song for everything, I mean it. 10/10 band. They make you feel like the tiring guilt you get after getting laid.
2. The Smashing Pumpkins
   Quiter, less harsh guitar, but still such good noise and grain to their songs. They have slower, they have quick and grunge-y, sort of like Nirvana, and they have anything in between. When you feel especially miserable, you go to the pumpkins. Corgan's vocals are unmistakable, and his voice is amazing. One of my favorite albums of all time is Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. They have had my heart for years.
3. Skinny Puppy
   The roughest, most electronic goth I can think of. If you put a pair of black skinny jeans on a snare drum, starved it for three weeks and introduced it to cinnamon cigarettes, you'd have Skinny Puppy. I adore them.
